14TH MASEAN MID-TERM MEETING Bandung, 16 – 18 Juni 2011

MASEAN adalah Medical Association of SouthEast Asian Nations , dengan anggota ikatan dokter dari negara2 Asean. Terbentuk di Jakarta bulan Maret 1980 atas prakarsa Dr. Rajakumar dari Malaysia, dan diresmikan di Penang, Malaysia bulan April 1980. Ia menjadi ketua MASEAN yang pertama. Selanjutnya tempat kongres bergilir setiap dua tahun menurut alphabet Negara, dan ketuanya adalah ketua ikatan dokter Negara tersebut.

Diantara dua kongres diadakan ‘Mid-Term Meeting’, tujuannya untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan amanah dari kongres sebelumnya.

Tujuan organisasi adalah meningkatkan mutu kesehatan masyarakat dengan cara mempererat hubungan antara dokter serta tukar menukar ilmu pengetahuan kesehatan.

Ketua saat ini adalah ketua ikatan dokter Myanmar (tahun lalu kongres diadakan di Yangoon, Myanmar. Kongres berikut tahun depan di Filipina.
